Nancy Cable serves in an advisory role for IES searches and our work with trustees. Her interest in independent schools stems from her years as Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Davidson College and her leadership roles at the Denison University, Guilford College and the University of Virginia. She has also served as a Board of Trustee member of three independent schools: Marietta College, The Asheville School and The Cannon School. She also served on the Presidential Search Committee for Denison University and the Head of School Search Committee at The Asheville School.
Nancy is a distinguished speaker and admired professional in the field of education, with proven experience in admissions, financial aid, development, and diversity initiatives. A frequent speaker on college admission and financial aid matters at innumerable private and public high schools, she also served on the Selection Team for National Merit Scholars.
Nancy has served as the Interim President of Bates College and is currently the President of the Arthur Vining Davis Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marietta College, a Master's degree from the University of Vermont, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of Virginia. She has also completed the Certificate Program at the Institute for Educational Management at the Harvard Graduate School of Education at Harvard University.
